6 Days – Serengeti Great Migration safari (November to March)

ITINERARY

Day 1: Next Stop - Tarangire National Park

On your drive from Arusha sit back and enjoy the scenic views of the changing vegetation. The drive will approximately take you two hours. You will be able to see different human activities such as farms and stones quarries from the roads. You might also see Maasai boys with their cattle grazing or moving in search of green pastures. Tarangire National Park is very famous for its large number of Elephants, zebras, impalas, warthogs and waterbucks. After the adventure of the day you will head to the hotel/Lodge for overnight.

Day 2: Next Stop – Central Serengeti (Seronera)

After breakfast in the lodge with your picnic lunch box drive to Serengeti national park via the rim of crater enroute to Serengeti. The drive can be not less than 4 hours. Serengeti is home  of thousands of wildlife animal species & some of them join in the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. Listen to the exotic sounds of over six million hooves pounding the open plains. This is a Dream Destination to spend many nights!

Day 3: Next Stop –North Serengeti

After breakfast, we will set off on a full day game drive in Serengeti following the Great Migration trails. Our experienced driver tour guide will provide you with interesting facts about this highly renowned event, which makes Tanzania the top safari destination in Africa.
Serengeti, a UNESCO world heritage site, is home to around 200,000 zebras, and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelle, which join in the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. Listen to the exotic sounds of over six million hooves pounding the open plains. This is just like you imagined Africa to be!

 Day 4: Serengeti National Park (Kogatende)

We will proceed for a full day game drive viewing the great migration at Mara area. Resident wildlife numbers are exceptionally high in the Wagakuria area. The key feature is the Mara River and there is a great chance to see the herds cross the Mara River to the north on one day and back south a few days later. Please note that it can be very difficult to witness crossing and is sometimes a matter of luck. A herd can be seen next to river and only decide to cross a couple of days later. This area is a stunning region with kopjes, woodland, riverine vegetation and open plains, similar to Kenya's Masai Mara Game Reserve.

 Day 5: Next Stop – Central Serengeti (Seronera)

After breakfast, we will drive to Serengeti north viewing the great migration at Mara area. The key feature is the Mara River and it is not uncommon to see the herds cross the Mara River north on one day and then back south a few days later. Please take note that finding a crossing is very challenging and is sometimes a matter of luck. There are instances where herds can be seen next to the river but then only decides to cross a couple of days later. This area is a stunning region with kopjes, woodland, riverine vegetation and open plains, similar to Kenya's Masai Mara Game Reserve.

Day 6: Next Stop – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

In the sunrise enjoy the Hot Air Balloon safari with scenic view of plains land of Serengeti then after one hour flying in Serengeti, enroute to Ngorongoro Conservation Area  via Olduvai Gorge museum, a famous archaeological location in East Africa.

Day 7: Next stop – Ngorongoro crater

start with an early morning game drive inside the Ngorongoro Crater. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is an extensive highland area along the eastern arm of the Rift Valley, with the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater as its focal point. Ngorongoro was established to conserve wildlife and other natural resources. It also safeguards the interests of indigenous people and promotes tourism.

Day 8: Next Stop – Arusha via Lake Manyara national park

After breakfast, proceed with game drive safari in Lake Manyara National park, though this park is a small park but it is a perfect for bird watching. Game in Lake Manyara include elephants, wildebeests along with so many giraffes, and buffaloes. In addition, the park is also very famous for its large number of zebras, impalas, warthogs and waterbucks. After the adventure of a half day you will be driven back to Arusha.
